Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
What is the CPLP™?
The Certified Professional in Learning and Performance™ (CPLP™) offered by the ATD Certification Institute (CI) offers workplace learning and performance (WLP) professionals the opportunity to enhance credibility and prove value in an increasingly competitive marketplace. If you would like to learn more about the CPLP program, you can learn more at the ATD website: https://www.td.org/Certification. For more information, check out the resources page.
What value can CPLP certification offer me?
A Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential identifies you as a learning expert. That means your enhanced skillset can be used to elevate your credibility, distinguish you and your organization, expand your career opportunities, and establish yourself as a training leader.
Where do I start?
The CPLP is a three-part process:
● Have at least five (5) years of industry related experience.
● Pass a knowledge exam consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions.
● Submit a successful work product that focuses on one of four Areas of Expertise: Instructional Design, Training Delivery, Performance Improvement or Managing Learning Programs.
How do I prepare?
First step, review the CPLP Certification Handbook located on the National ATD website. Next, you will want to register for the exam by completing the CPLP Application and paying your exam fee.
The next step is to prepare for the exam. ATD has created the comprehensive ATD Learning System, which costs $449 (Member)/$595 (Non-Member). The ATD Learning System also offers companion flashcards and a CD-ROM at an additional cost.
What study options are available?
OPTION 1: Cohort Study Group. The Los Angeles Chapter offers a virtual CPLP Study Group cohort so that you can prepare with others in a cohort.
OPTION 2: Instructor-led Workshop. A two-day workshop is available through the National ATD website.
