ATD-LA could not exist without our many knowledgeable, dedicated volunteers. They provide invaluable expertise and support to all aspects of our work. We are always looking for new volunteers.

Chapter Officers

President 2018

Ben is thrilled to lead the chapter in his second term as ATD-LA President, having previously served the chapter as Director of Chapter Meetings and Manager of Sponsorship. He is currently Director of Human Resources at Guitar Center, the world's largest musical instrument retailer, where he leads the HR function supporting more than 2500 associates at almost 100 work sites across the western United States. Ben joined Guitar Center as Manager of Learning Programs in 2016, following several years working in the global talent development teams at MUFG Union Bank and Weight Watchers International.

Secretary

Faheemah Usher is a new Power Member and volunteer of ATD-Los Angeles. She is excited to support the board of directors and chapter members in her role as Secretary. Having been in the government sector for over 12 years, Faheemah has experience as a legal secretary, front line supervisor, and facilitator.

Director of Workshops

Laurie volunteered as the ATD-LA Manager of Events before accepting this role as the Director of Events & Workshops. She helps organizations cultivate effective leaders, increase employee engagement and improve business results. Her areas of expertise include organizational effectiveness, talent mobility, performance management and employee engagement. In this role, she will lead the management and coordination of chapter learning events, workshops and conferences.

Director of Membership

Angelina Iyamah-Wilson is a long-standing ATD supporter. In her role as Director of Membership, and will focus on growing the Chapter's corporate membership base. Angelina is a writer with 18+ years of human resources experience. She is currently lending her expertise to American Honda Motor Co Inc. in Torrance, California where she leads Inclusive Practices.

Director of Marketing

Margeaux volunteered as the ATD-LA Social Media Manager before accepting this role as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Her passion is helping companies and executives communicate values and create unique brand narratives to engage with their customers. In this role, she will help highlight the achievements of the ATD-LA community and connect current and rising leaders with ATD-LA training that will help them achieve the next level in their careers. Together, we can make 2018 productive and rewarding!

Webinar Manager

For almost 2 years now, Sahar has been ATD-LA's Webinar manager. With a passion for positive change, Sahar Sartawi earned expertise in communications, change management and employee engagement through her work with global organizations such as HSBC, NGA and Crowley. She blends experience encompassing nine countries with an MS in Organizational Development and certifications in Change Management-PROSCI, Career Coaching, and Human Resources. In this role, Sahar employs her expertise in the various disciplines as she grows and expands the scope and quality of the webinars we provide for our members.

Office Administration

Association Manager

Denise is the ATD-LA Association Manager and has been with the chapter since 2008. She handles the day-to-day operations, reporting, and compliances; and is your contact through email and phone. Her business, More than Just Words, is an association management and virtual assistance company. She also manages the ATD-Orange County Chapter and serves as a bridge for the two chapters. 

Office Administrator

Grant is an ATD-LA Office Administrator. He manages email communication, the ATD-LA website, and event planning. He is an instructor at Eucrest Writing where he designs and implements business writing training seminars that help organizations improve communication and achieve results. He edits and writes business documents, and coaches professionals on strengthening their writing skills.
