Advanced Interviewer Skills for Workplace Learning

Maximize Your Interviews with Sponsors and Stakeholders

Goals:

  1. Identify the top 10 skills of an effective interviewer, including preparing, conducting and follow-up
  2. Address key challenges with interviews during analysis, design, development, and evaluation
  3. Practice applying the top 10 skills to be a successful interviewer

Summary:

Interviews help us learn what sponsors, stakeholders, and SMEs know, feel, and think.  This information is necessary at every stage of the Instructional Design process, from Analysis to Evaluation.  Since interviewer skills are so crucial to our success, how do we formulate the right questions?  How do we identify the right people to ask?  How do we plan, conduct, and follow-up from interviews?  In this workshop, Michele B. Medved will share best practices and tools from her eBook, Top 10 Skills for Interviewers:  How to Ask the Right Questions to Create Targeted Learning Solutions.  You will also have the opportunity to practice applying these skills in fun, interactive exercises.
